The piston rings were one that stay in my mind; there were a number of different thicknesses and we didn't know that (nor did our friendly parts guys) so we built a number of really good oil pumpers, which would pollute the air with barely burned oil while endowing us with superlative engine rebuilding skills. I dare say we could match any race team for how quickly we could disassemble and reassemble the engine. \n\nIt also had some stupidly high rear end ratio, so that it would sound like it was about to explode when you were at highway speed, but nothing could touch it away from a traffic light. \n\nWe loved the car and were sorry to see it go, but it went to a good home after a few years of commuting. The CA plates on this were a nice touch, but there is some tin worm issues on the underside. My '71 2500 and '67 2000CS both succumbed to the tin worm by the late '70s.
