The mirror wire harnesses shorted a fuse that for some reason also controls the oil cooler and climate control. New outside temperature sensor and xenon light adjusting rod. Driver's side rear window and passenger side rear headrest remain inoperable. Radio volume knob needs to be repaired. I am wondering if it was a code for all black leather and leather trim delete on dash and everything else in the car.\r\n\r\nThe rear AC has a separate evaporator located in the left fender area, so it should blow icy cold or it is not working.\r\n\r\nPark-tronic (PT)was not a standard option on any W140 including the S600. My 1999 does not have PT. It came out when the rear back-up aerials were deleted. I believe it is now a standard option on maybe all MBs but certainly all S Class. \r\n\r\nThe 4 place seating does make this a special car and is a nice option. My car has this and gets a lot of attention at Cars and Coffee.\r\n\r\nThis is not the first \"Leather Trim Deleted\" (I made up this designation) W140 S 600 I have seen. There was one for sale a year or so ago in south Florida and another in Canada that has a you tube video. However the early S 600 had the standard seats and non leather until 1995(?). In the 1996 to 1999, everything that looks like leather is leather. Of course everything that looks like wood is wood. For $140K ($50K more than the S 500), the customer was accustomed to The Best or Nothing! The all leather interior is why even after 20 years my car smells like a new pair of kid gloves or fine Italian shoes. My two S 500's did not have this \"nose\" to them. In fact it seems to be absent in the new S Class. \r\n\r\nThe headliner is Alcantara which is an artificial suede. In the W140 it is only on the S 600.\r\n\r\nThis car also appears to be missing the wood trim on the inside of the B Pillar, about 12 inches from the floor. It should be almost parallel to the ash tray in the rear door.\r\n\r\nLastly as someone else pointed out, the rear package deck is missing the leather trim. It has either cloth(not including the speakers) or vinyl. The box is totally invisible behind the head unit.\r\n\r\nI have full Bluetooth functionality including handsfree calling and streaming audio directly from my phone, and the audio quality is stunningly good. I can even use the buttons on my head unit to select tracks, same as if I was operating a CD changer. \r\n\r\nAll this while maintaining a 100% stock appearance. Amazing cars. To me there's not a huge difference between the 10- and 6-disc changers. You change the cartridges every so often so maybe just a bit more frequently. I had a car where the original stereo was stolen so I installed an Alpine with the 3-disc cartridge in-dash CD-player.
