They found a way to tuck the stock air plenum into the grill cleanly too. \n\nIs the S14 controlled by the stock ECU or an Alpha-N or some other stand alone? The five speed with the 3.64 rear end should make it easy to drive down the highway, but you have to spin the S14 to get those 200 ponies out.\n\nExcept for the stance, the over all stock look of the car belies what is under the hood. They even left the stock exhaust continuing with the deception. It should be interesting to see where this one ends up, but do not let the fact that it is not close to you to prevent you from bidding. It would cost you $1,000 to $2500 just to truck it from California to the east coast. Freight from Belgium would probably be in the same range as well and the customs paper work adds another $500 or so unless you do it yourself.\n\nIf you have ever considering a car like this, it would be a lot easier and probably less money to acquire this one at the stage it is now and finish it like you want than starting from scratch. More modern cars require you to meet US DOT standards which require changing the Euro side markers, head lights and speedometer at a minimum. The EPA standards for 1970 do not apply (I would suspect even for California but I am no expert there - not many are from the sound of things around here). After 25 years it is strictly the individual states requirement for registration. Some states do not even require a Title, but Florida does so they sent over a DOT man to inspect the car. This consisted of him visually verifying that the VIN number on the car matched the paper work. With that document they issued a tag.\n\nAs far as passing California smog requirements, the S14 will pass but a Cat may be required.
