Ted Porter at Beemershop advises that the aftermarket field-serviceable driveshaft which is available for these Paralevers as an upgrade now extended to the mono-shock/monolever pre-1986 G/S, which for some of us is great news! I would recommend verifying this information with Ted and that upgrades are also available for the /5 and /6. Caveat emptor; we talked about a variety of things, so do your own homework.\r\n\r\nAssuming that the reserve is met, the new owner will IM_not so_HO (this subject matter only) will be getting a better machine than the newer more expensive, more complex oilhead GS, also up for auction on BaT. I am a self-confessed Luddite, with the exception of the supercharger on my SLK32, and I respect everyone\u2019s right to own whatever they like. So don\u2019t worry \u2014 be happy. I've disabled the auto-retract on my 92 and it's pretty nice when dismounting with gear strapped on the back so you don't have to do some impossible yoga pose to swing your right leg over.
