With the motor conversion the DME was updated to 7.8 from 7.2, but the ABS controller is still 7.2 and apparently this is the root cause for the cruise to not work, all other systems function as they should. The only special items that were added for the conversion were brackets or spacers. There is a link to additional videos that show the top functioning correctly, etc. in the add below the two videos provided. Since I\u2019ve owned the car I\u2019ve done bi annual oil changes, brake pads, rotors and fluid, and a battery. I\u2019d drive it to either coast tomorrow without hesitation (maybe weather). The only two custom parts used were:\r\n* two spacers seen in pic 83 (which look much nicer than mine!)\r\n* an extra wire pair to integrate the can bus system to accommodate the 7.8DME upgrade\r\n\r\nThis car does have a custom air box, what looks like a custom exhaust carrier to integrate the later cayman exhaust system, and possibly a custom ECU tune (mine uses the 3.6X51 OEM tune as that is the closest match that still fits on the 7.8DME\u2019s limited memory, and Todd said the motronic system had enough headway programmed into it to accommodate the extra displacement)\r\n\r\nAll that to say, this car can easily be hooked up to the factory PWIWS system and diagnosed at any Porsche dealer or indy. No drone at all, just great growl), 2007 Carrera shifter (cost $250 then, plug and play short shifter. (whoops, that won't help you - maybe your next one), and I guess my 917 shift knob won't be of much help either. \r\n\r\nAlso, my kids (sons and daughter) have all tracked karts and done autox. At my daughter's insistence, we restored a 912 - and it is actually my favorite autox car. We were going to go Miata Spec or Boxster Spec. But we saw a lot of the BS bumping and dive bombing in Miatas that we didn't like in karting. So, we ended up with a 1962 Elva sports racer we're restoring to do historic racing where there's a little more respect for the cars.
