There is a series of notches and an E-clip on the engine side of the firewall (see in pic #79 by the red battery cable).\r\n\r\nI definitely approve of losing the big US '74 bumpers in favor of the small ones. Just needs a set of fog lights to complete the Rallye look.\r\n\r\nI'll keep an eye on this auction with interest! I drove it for two summers while I was getting my \u201866 Valiant convertible road worthy. The Opel was a fun and reliable vintage car. My car was corrosion and rust free which is the most important aspect when considering a Manta. The critical area is under the battery tray as the acid would corrode everything underneath it including the battery tray, often the fuse box and fatally the drivers side frame rail. Pics of underneath the battery, inside underneath the dash and especially underneath the drivers feet area showing the frame is required. I paid $40 to get my car on a hoist to show this area.\r\n\r\nThis is much nicer than my car which was a bitsa. The Opel was like having a cute puppy, everyone either wanted to know what it was or knew what it was and it brought back fond memories. I\u2019m in Detroit and it was fun telling folks that it was indeed a GM product. It was practical too with a large trunk and it was always fun to drive in a light weight responsive sorta way.\r\n\r\nThese were very affordable cars that provided much more value than other cars in the same price range at the time. It has super well balanced handling and you\u2019ll want some increase in engine performance to take advantage of the excellent handling. Luckily the tech and parts support are readily available at Opel GT Source. The cars only weighed about 2200-2300 pounds and were fun to drive.
