My current project is a replica of a 1929 Mercedes SSK. I used a Lexus IS300 donor for the 2JZ EFI I6 power and five speed manual. The brakes and suspension looked good so I used them too. The SSK had a live axle on leaf springs so instead of the IRS I re-geared a Dana 44 and integrated the Lexus rear discs. All the suspension bits are steel forgings and the brakes are cast iron, so unsprung weight is substantial. No matter an IS300 sport sedan is pretty agile compared to a 1929 Mercedes.
