An absolute blast of a car that can really move on command. It was such a perfect sleeper. Very small, with little sound proofing, the noise really added to the experience. I just loved the car but my son kept on growing until he no longer could fit in the back seat. I upgraded to a Focus ST, which has much more horsepower and is quicker, but somehow is not anywhere as near fun as the Fiesta ST. I still missed that car. Later, when I decided I wanted a second, fun car, I argued over getting another Fiesta ST or a Lotus Elise. I ended up with the Elise (bought here at BaT), but even still have regrets at losing my Fiesta ST. It was such a blast of a car, especially with summer tires. And got awesome gas milage (my daily commute is 130 miles). \n\nThere are no new Fiesta ST's available anywhere close where I live so this auction would work for anyone interested by me. The smiles-per-dollar ratio is really high, enough so that I mentioned this car in the recent \"surprised me\" QotW. Sweet little motor that has a pretty good bottom end, and it pulls strong up to the rev limiter. Decent amount of room if you need to haul stuff. The suspension is pretty tight with not a lot of compliance, and I personally would like it to be a bit softer for our northern roads. However, get it on the tight twisties and this thing is as fun as anything else you've driven. And when you get to the other side of the fun stuff, you're left asking yourself, \"Wait, this cost only HOW much?!?\" \r\n\r\nThis looks like the 'base' ST, same as we have: no Recaros (not really needed: stock seats work great), no sunroof, and maybe a couple other minor details. Looks like it has the Sync audio system, and @Seller can confirm whether it has navigation. \r\n\r\nThe automatic transmission in lesser Fiestas (Fiesti?) was apparently made of broken glass, twist-ties, and cotton candy, but the 6-speed manual in the ST is solid and works really well. Heel-and-toe - of which I'm no expert - is easy in this car. The steering feels good, but for the smallest car in our fleet it has the largest turn radius. Not a problem unless you do a lot of tight u-turns.\r\n\r\nI'll echo something @TR68 said, that the Focus ST is much faster but not nearly as much fun. In the FoST we tried, going fast felt like work. In the smaller FiST, it's just get-in-and-go fun. At 32-25 MPG on 91+.\r\n\r\nAnyway, enough gushing. If you want a modern-day pocket rocket / hot-hatch with a warranty, this is a good choice. He's not very comfortable in that car either, but it is workable, and now that he is 19 he has his own car. I continue to wonder if I should \"downgrade\" back to the Fiesta ST but my wife probably would not be happy with that. Still, cars like this may never appear again, at least in gasoline form. They are truly wonderful cars and very good looking too. Mine was metallic gray but black looks super and the bright orange is awesome well. \r\n\r\nBack to your situation- it's tight in the back seat so I would test strongly how well a baby car seat fits back there. The car is very small, so that affects the safety factor. A week's worth of groceries will absolutely stuff the trunk and back seat. I adore small cars so I lived with its foibles easily. When the neighbors threatened to call child welfare seeing me stuff a 6 foot kid in the back seat, I finally gave in and moved on. At least I got 2 years with it and 80,000 miles. Only being front engined and slightly higher off the ground holds it back against the Elise. \n\nYou should try to see if there is a used FiST on the lots wherever you live. Most get by with just a pad and fluid change but with how I drive I\u2019m saving up for a Stoptech or AP BBK. What surprised me the most aside from how easy it is to slide this thing into corners, is how stout the engine and gearbox is. You can get up to around 300hp on the stock fuel system and there are many folks up around the 400hp mark with auxiliary fuel injection, but on completely stock motors and with zero problems. Having put about 10k on it since, daily driving in Seattle traffic and road tripping all over the PNW, I can attest to the get-in-and-go rowdy fun this thing provides. Seattle traffic rarely exceeds 40mph and even at those speeds it is a blast to drive every time. A little squiggle of torque-steer and wheelspin as boost comes on in first (there's more to be had in higher gears). A tight gap in traffic to squeeze through. A parking spot that looks too small to be true. The FiST excels at all of these.\r\n\r\nMine is a base spec like this one (I believe the only option at the time was Recaros). The seats are supportive enough for long drives. I can fit enough gear inside for a week of camping. The \"Torque Vectoring Control\" front diff was alarming the first few times I felt it, but it now inspires confidence on twisty roads. Right at what feels like the limit of front-end grip, just when you expect understeer, the inside brake grabs and the nose bites into the tarmac. I wouldn't want to be in the back seat for that ride!\r\n\r\nIn this color it is a near-invisible city ripper. The acceleration felt quick, with a nice turbo shove. It\u2019s handling on the stock all-seasons (didn\u2019t want summer tires for her DD) was in line with my NA Miata which runs modern summer rubber. The ride is definitely flinty, much like my newer ND Miata, which is marginal for a DD on Michigan roads but likely fine in most places. As for the Recaro seats, I had to have them because they look so much cooler than base seats. But they are exceptionally tight, way more so than is necessary. The Recaros in Mustangs and Shelbys are much more generous, yet those cars have higher performance. Go figure. My waist is a 32/33\u201d, and I barely fit. If I was buying again I\u2019d likely forgo the Recaros given their significant extra cost and reduced comfort. The base seats likely make the ride feel a bit softer as well, as the Recaros were fairly unyielding. Never had any mechanical issues with any of our Fiestas. It's much easier to find wrecked Focus ST's, and many Fiesta ST owners have swapped out their seats for the full leather Recaros from the Focus ST. They are direct bolt-ins using the Fiesta seat frames, though there are some wiring harness changes needed to keep the side airbags working. There are also a partial leather Recaro option in the Focus ST, though those seem to be less common. Also, a cheaper and more comfort-oriented option would be to pull the leather seats from an upper trim regular Fiesta (these are direct bolt-ins, both frame and wiring).\r\n\r\nThey are amazing cars, but I do absolutely believe the reason it's so easy to find them with base seats is because they severely detract from the experience of this car. Whole kit comes in around $1k. Front rotors are RX-8 and rears are Focus RS. They have to be drilled for the 4 bolt stud pattern, but he does that for you. Once I added front ducting, the kit worked great with Ferodo DS2500 pads, which are very streetable. \n\nLast track day at Pacific Raceways in Kent, I got 4 hours of track time going hell for leather and the brakes were just perfect all day.\n\nYou will have to accept 17\" wheels though. Bigger people do fit in the Recaros. When test driving the Fiestas I wanted to sit in both a regular seat and the Recaro. After slipping into the Recaro I knew I had to get one with Recaros. The base seats are flat and easily forgettable with this car. For context I'm 6'3\" 210 lbs. and have 34\" waist. I picked up my Fiesta from Iowa and drove it 1900 miles (30 hours) back to Washington in 3 days. I spent a lot of long hours in the car and never once felt uncomfortable. I asked my dad who did the road trip with me how he felt and he also had no complaints. He is 6'3\" ~240ish lbs and has a 38\" waist. If we can both fit I'd say most people can fit in these seats and in my opinion they make this little hot hatch super special. I found two low mileage examples in orange (great color), a 2015 with 43k miles and a 2016 with 27k miles, and one had serious cosmetic issues (weatherstripping disintegrating badly around the windshield, foggy headlight cover, and loose clutch or transmission noise) while the other pulled hard to the right under acceleration (tires were properly inflated, wheels looked true.)
