Along with the reinforcement kit, the shop installed polyurethane subframe bushings, genuine BMW transmission mounts, motor mounts, and driveshaft flex disk (there is a photo attached showing an online invoice from them). The previous owner has also replaced the high-pressure steering hoses, battery, Saks OE clutch unit, throw-out bearing, spark plugs, cabin air filter, engine air filter, and the transmission fluid, however, there are no records available for this work. The previous owner had a lift in his garage and chose to do some DIYs. He has also installed a Roque Engineering Octane short shift kit as well as Turner Motorsport mono-ball rear trailing arm bushings (visible in some undercarriage photos). The car was extremely well looked after, and it shows when looking at the undercarriage, door jams, the Titan Shadow trim, and plastic and rubber molding pieces. In the last 1000 miles, the car had a valve adjustment done, differential input shaft seal replaced, differential fluid flushed, oil change, engine oil drain plug replaced, brake fluid flushed, power steering reservoir hose and cap o-ring replaced, power steering fluid flushed, section 3 to mid-pipe exhaust donut gasket replaced, along with associated differential and exhaust hardware. At this time, the driveshaft was also re-greased. Both of the airbag assemblies were replaced by the dealer fairly recently. I was told that the car never was never driven in the snow and has only seen the rain a few times. There is no rust or bubbling anywhere, not even the undercarriage bolts. The paint and panels are all original. The car is ready for a new home. I recently had the car inspected at Route 66 in Burr Ridge, IL. Rafael, the technician, found slight play in front control arm ball joints. In addition, the tires are old and cause road noise as indicated by the alignment shop and Route 66. Rafael also found that the car has a slight pull to the right. I suspected that the old tires were causing this, so after completing the inspection, I went home and put on a different set of wheels with new tires. I came back to Route 66 to have the issue re-evaluated, Rafael found no pulling after the tire and wheel set was swapped. In 2014 the car was taken to Fluid MotorUnion to get the rear subframe reinforced as a preventative measure. The entire rear subframe along with the suspension, brakes etc was removed to clean, inspect, weld any problem areas, and weld in the reinforcement plates. \"Welds from the top and bottom\" means that there are reinforcement plates welded in from underneath the car as well as from the inside of the trunk. For the subframe reinforcement to be done right, you need to cut out access holes inside the trunk. It is done to reinforce the subframe mounting points from the top. A lot of people will only weld in plates from underneath the car, which can cause issues. These plates can be seen when the carpet inside the trunk is removed. The undercarriage plates are clearly visible in some of the photos below (like photo #294).
