It\u2019s been a wonderful car to own and take care of. I\u2019ve put roughly 15K kms in the last three years while living in the US and we\u2019ve had a blast. Several trips to Manhattan, Annapolis, Philadelphia, Newport, however the most enjoyable trips have been Saturday morning drives, grocery runs and picking up kids from school. I am moving back to Paris this summer (Covid Pending) with my family and a 93 Bronco. I can\u2019t be \u201cthe American guy\u201d with a 2CV in Paris so I think the Bronco should be a little more apropos. I really hope to find someone who will have as much fun with her as I have.\r\nThe car has some flaws that are detailed in the description. The slight whining sound in 1st, 2nd & 4th has been identified as a need for new shaft bearings. I never got around to getting it fixed but it has had the sound since day one and several mechanics have told me I could keep driving as it is indefinitely. I have posted videos of it in all gears on my YouTube channel. It\u2019s not bothersome. Just pump up the Creedence!\r\nI can\u2019t identify the oil leak but I keep it topped up and regularly serviced and it runs great - no smoke. There is some surface rust on the exhaust manifolds (pretty standard if you check other BAT sold 2CVs) and other parts of the undercarriage but the floor is rust free.\r\nI\u2019m happy to answer any questions you may have and it\u2019s no problem to assist with shipping/delivery to the winning bidder. \r\nThis 2CV isn\u2019t a show car but she shows really well and drives like hell. Never have I driven a car that gets more smiles and thumbs up from so many people. It's true that the car will roll for a long time with this noise. Replacing the wheel bearing involves a 44mm socket with somewhat thin walls (you may have to grind the OD of your socket) and a special tool for removing the ring nut that holds the bearing in the brake drum. The tool can be improvised, but understand that the ring nut is probably very tight, so build your tool appropriately. Order a new ring nut from Kenji as well as the bearing, seal, and bearing cap.\r\n\r\nThe transmission noise is another matter. Without hearing it, it could be any bearing in the gearbox except for the rear one on the upper shaft, so figure on replacing all the bearings. I don't agree that gearbox noises can be ignored long-term because of the possibility of worn bearings causing damage to shafts and gears. As gearboxes go, it's pretty simple.
