There is a mass of information online about Nissan Figaro\u2019s, being as they were only produced for really about one year in 1991, as a 50th anniversary car Nissan. They were only available in Japan and originally only 8,000 cars were going to be made, but there was so much interest that they increased production to 20,000, and even then had to hold a lottery for people to get one!\r\nNo I don't, have compression figures, I will look to get them. The car drives brilliantly. \r\nYes basecoat and clearcoat. \r\nWindscreen, you might find a new one somewhere, but 2nd hand ones are readily available from UK for about \u00a3150.\r\nThere is a bit of pitting in the roof catches, but the photos probably make it look worse than it is. These are once again easily found online or could be rechromed. I tend to drive it at around 60-65 mph, although have driven it at 75 mph, no problem. The car will actually do over 100 mph, and the turbo makes the little engine very responsive. It's published 0 - 60 mph time is 12.2 seconds, which is quicker than a 1952 Aston martin DB2... lol. It has no problem keeping up with traffic. \r\nAs for the top, it was replaced in Japan, I don't know when and having had 2 of these, this top is not your normal thin replacement. The front panel with the grille in and the front wings are actually made from a composite/plastic so they never rust. Figaro\u2019s do tend to have a problem with rusting in three areas, around the rear wheel arches, in the boot/trunk area and the roof channel recess. My car was really sound in those areas. \r\nThere are 6 water/rain drain holes in the car, 4 in the boot/trunk area, due to the convertible roof and 2 in the roof channel. \r\n\r\nThe majority of rust on Figaro\u2018s comes from these becoming blocked. Also the roof area drains into the rocker/sill panels under the doors, and rust tends to happen if these drain holes become blocked. Mine were all clear and they are easily cleared by pushing a piece of electrical flex/wire through them. This absence of rust can be verified by the pictures posted of the underside of the car.\r\n\r\nWhen I bought the car it was pretty sound, apart from small minor surface rust from a couple of body chips and minor dents, etc. Why it needed a respray was mainly because of issues with the top clear coat that had faded and was starting to peel off on the hood/bonnet and the rear boot trunk lid. However like all 30 year old cars, it had a few minor dings and dents from car doors being opened on to it, hence some of the filler in the pictures, which was to get the body straight, nothing more.\r\n\r\nI have just posted some more pictures of one piece of rust that was on the trunk lid and was cut out re-welded and fixed. I\u2019ve also posted a picture of the paint used. (These have to be approved by Bring a Trailer, so can take a day or so to appear.\r\n\r\nNothing was missed or shortcut; as I originally intended to take this car back to Australia with me, but have decide to sell as I am now going to take a more classic car back with me.\r\nThe work was performed by a professional painter and he spent two weeks just preparing the body and the job cost over $6000 just for a small car. That was the one that was sold in March with 54,000 miles on it. We were thinking about taking them back to Australia, but we\u2019ve decided to take another classic with us. \nThis car has only done 100,000 miles over 30 years and obviously has been regularly used, but not over used. I would prefer that than a car that has sat for many years, but with lower milage. Body wise it is really good, as Figaro\u2019s can be prone to rust.
