Full disclosure - I do confess to feeling that non air-cooled 911's are not 911's, but if you take out a 944 and wind it up through the gears, there's little doubt that it qualifies as a Porsche -- that wonderfully distinctive kick in your back all the way up to redline is unmistakable.
