Just plain ol' rubberized cover with \"stitching\" imprints that all the GS models got. The only actual leather-stitched wheels came with the 1979 \"Limited\" (and several special 80+ models). Likewise a stitched leather shift knob came with these Limiteds. Nice Unobtainium if you can find it!\r\n\r\nNice color combo, with much-better cloth seat cover inserts. For whatever reason, Mazda seemed to vacillate between cloth and the gawd-awful \"red-dot\" vinyl covers thru most of the 79-80 SA production. My 80 came with the red-dots and these are a nightmare in hot weather. Red is a nice alt to the usually-black trim inside as well.\r\n\r\nHere's hoping the fresh(er) paint isn't hiding any bigger rust issues. The bubbling-up shown can hint at worse underneath. Even my \"dry-So-Cali\" 80 had areas that needed to be cleaned up and mitigated, esp around sunroof lip and rear hatch under the weather gaskets. The lower rear fenders are a fav rust point too.\r\n\r\nUp to 110K on my original-engined SA and pulling strong, burning just the requisite-minimum of oil (as it should!). Most of the maintenance jobs that I've done have been relatively straightforward weekend jobs incrementally improving things.\r\n\r\nTonight I'm going to try and add some additional photos of the floorboards under the front carpets and behind the trunk trim where the tail lights mount. Similar to the other comments I was also wary of what might lurk beneath the paint job when I bought the car. I also got some photos inside the door sills through those convenient ports on both sides found beneath the plastic sill covers. Not a lot you can see through those, but still useful!\r\n\r\n@racerx01 that was my dilemma, keep it as-is stock or start working through some things that would improve the car, mainly for ease of service and piece of mind a long way out from home. If I had the extra space to keep boxes of original parts, the original exhaust configuration, etc, I probably would've started down that road. In the end though, figured it was too nice and that it'd be best to just start with something a little less original. This car's replacement is a much worse off 914, that'll be easy to justify modifications, future proofing, etc.\r\n\r\nFor parts I've found Atkins Rotary in WA & MazdaTrix are great. They even have some used things available for hard to find items if you call them. Rock Auto also has a lot of the more common things for considerably less money. Typically with the same exact manufacturer and part number.
