The long arm crank is therefore stronger and will be totally robust when using the economical cast kits. The smaller mains of a 340 mean it's pretty much necessary to use a more expensive forged crank. I know a local racer with a 340 block stroked to 426 that with Indy 360-1 heads was making nearly 700HP. The block was additionally modified with four bolt main caps. There's lots of room inside the Mopar small blocks for stroking and the aftermarket rods and shorter pistons reduce reciprocating weight substantially too. If Mopar had done this in the day they wouldn't have needed big blocks! I don't see mention of the rear end gearing? I like tall gears with strokers to take advantage of the torque and provide high speed cruising, my 408 1966 Valiant is setup with 2.76s.\n\nThis is a quality build. My personal taste would have kept the 340 call out and I really like E-bodies with 15x7 Rally wheels but easy to adjust. Parts Counter Paint Catalogs for the 1969, 1970, & 1971 model years, as well as truly sizable (3.5\u201d x 8.5\u201d) official Chrysler Corp. paint chips in a 6-ring binder + large mid-year paint chips from the 1970 model year. Sometimes, there is a lack of clarity in regard to the Codes, because, people may refer to them by their complete 3-character code designation, while others may refer to them by their 2-character \u201ccorporate root\u201d code designation, however, both are\ud83d\udc4d\ud83c\udffbcorrect! (It\u2019s just that the 3-character designation has greater specificity.) Regarding the original color, as an example, using the 3-character Paint Code on the Fender Tag of this \u2018Cuda (FF4), the first letter; F; designates the Model Year during which the color was first introduced (F = 1970). The second letter; F; designates the \u201cfamily\u201d of colors from which it comes (F = Green). [Note: Oftentimes, the \u201cfamily\u201d of colors are denoted by something obvious, i.e.: B = Blue, R = Red, T = Tan, W = White, Y = Yellow, however, there definitely are specific exceptions, Green being a notable one.] Finally, the third character (which is alway a numeral); 4; designates the shade; how light, or, dark, the particular color is within the color family.
