As far as I can tell, it was not smoked in prior to my possession either, and I wouldn't have purchased otherwise.\r\n\r\nThe coupler was failing and in the process of replacing it, I had the hoses, plastic fittings, clamps and other small items replaced as a preventative measure since we had the supercharger apart and those parts get hot. Those of us who wash our own cars dread finding marks and road rash that are an inevitable fact of life; but with the 3M coating, what appears to be a scratch or blemish simply wipes off with a soft cloth.
