All of mine had the SE5 package. My 86 used to have a booming system with 6 inch speakers in the doors, I built a custom subwoofer box with two 8 inch woofers behind the seat along with an Alpine CD player and a couple of amps. These were the mini-truck to have along with the Nissan Hardbody, Chev S10, and the Toyota pickup for customizing and lowering. The LX was full of extra exterior chrome and the dancing gauges on dash, full covered shifter boot, chrome wheel and bucket seats were what set them apart. I took a set of buckets out of a 626 to customize my 86 and take out the bench to mimick the same look. These were super fun to drive with the 5spd box and very lightweight so they cornered like a sports car. Like someone else said the carb on these engines had a mind of its own especially the choke which would jam on full throttle open at times. The alum cylinder heads are prone to heat and leaking head gaskets as my 89 needed one and did a valve job while I was at it, along with a frozen spark plug in the head that needed a heli-coil. If the radiator hasn't been replaced in this it's probably due as they mineral up easy. Solid lower end and enough torque to tow a small boat or trailer. Great to see the original California plates from a short run with the sunset, these came after the blue plate. Too bad to see that someone got crafty and put boat cleats on the bed rails. Mine was a light tan color with brown interior, and the same wheels as this one but also body color. I did the typical teenager stuff at the time, lowering it and getting wheels that didn't fit (these were 6 lug anyways, not a lot of choices). But the best \"mod\" I did was going to the local foreign salvage yard, plucking a meter cluster with a tachometer, and swapping it right in for my original one without tachometer. Maybe I had to run 1 wire for the tach, can't remember. Oh, and a lot of these (mine included) came with the big ugly tow mirrors that bolted in through the door sheetmetal. This one is lucky enough to not have had those mirrors installed. The other interesting thing was I used to see a lot of these around sans rear bumper and two rubber covers over the holes (I called them bumper caps). I searched high and low to find those and removed my bumper for the \"almost\" roll pan look. Had a choke problem with the carb when I first got it but a local shop was able to revive it.
