Replacing the exhaust manifold made it difficult to get the compression tester in place properly to take the measurement. Or the since the carburetors had the air supply manifold and filter connected to a pipe running to outside the engine compartment at the front of the car. That manifold was broken when I got the car. So I replaced it with two separate filters as shown in the photos. So those carbs have to be balanced for the engine to run properly. I have a book about the Strombergs that explains how to do that. The Jensen GT was imported to the USA. It had to meet California emission standards. So it was equipped with the anti-runon system. Also as mentioned earlier, it had a single air intake manifold. So both carbs had the same intake air pressure. Since I removed the anti-runon system and the single air intake manifold, the carbs now need to be balanced. I have the book on the Strombergs that explains how this is done. I have not done it so that might contribute to the lower compression in the #4 cylinder. The anti-runon parts will come with the car when it is sold. According to the previous owner it was last driven in 2003 by the the owner before the owner I bought it from. \r\n\r\nI was looking for a project to work on with my grandsons. The oldest of them found this car by searching the internet. This grandson now owns and drives the Porsche 914 we restored together.
