I have owned perhaps 200 or more over the years. but this isn't one of them.\n\nIt is a 1953 model, built shortly before the GM designed four-speed Hydramatic automatic transmission became standardized but this one, with the coolest shifting manual transmission every built by man is the one you want!\n\n@hotjavajim - there were a handful of RHD cars built with a center shift. I've only seen and owned one. The LHD examples generally had a four-speed column shift, about as precise as the shifter in the old Dodge Dart I drove in college - go for the RHD car like this - nothing, NOTHING drives like these do!\n\nCan you tell I like these cars!! There are a lot of questions I would ask before bidding on this, but I'm not going to bid so I don't really have anything more to say . . . \n\nExcept - these cars have been seriously underpriced, they make wonderful tour cars today (ask me about being stopped at 104 mph while driving across the continent not too many years ago), I have actually done track days in one, and everyone you meet will assume you're a bazillionaire because the general public has no idea what these truly cost. You will also note that an $800 set of supposedly every rubber gasket and seal needed for this Bentley is included (receipt photo below) plus four never mounted brand new brake drums sourced from Australia which cost well over $2000 (invoice photos below). Extensive mechanical work was professionally performed, fuel system, brakes, etc.. I fully intended to complete the restoration but wanted to sort out the mechanicals before starting on the appearance. Unfortunately because paint stripping was begun a few years ago but wasn\u2019t completed, the physical appearance is pretty rough (light surface rust where bare metal reached on roof, etc.) vehicle has been carefully housed and regularly started and run during my ownership even after work stalled after just getting too many projects started. These cars, when done correctly can be full time drivers. I met a man who drove his around the world and another who started and finished the Beijing to Paris race! When complete there still are not very valuable cars. This car can be done by someone mostly them selves. Finishing this by others can easily cost 100K. Stripping and painting aluminum can be a challenge. We used subs who did on site baking soda blasting. Does not warp the aluminum panels like sanding does. The runs and drives and appears to that fine. I dont see this car bringing much more.
