Bobby ran the same car for the test that he had raced the day before. His baseline speeds were virtually identical to what he had run the day before for the race. The Monte Carlo SS parts raised the average speed per lap in the neighborhood of 5 mph, a huge amount when you are at +190 mph. That was very rewarding but the highlite was when Bobby offered a ride around the track in his race car. Now mind you there was no safety equipment for a passenger. I climbed in and squatted and hung on the bars. Bobby said he would leave the pits and run WOT through the turns 1 and 2 and then look over at me to see a signal if I wanted him to pull in or run a WOT lap. It nearly hits redline in high gear in the 1/4 mile and in a 1/4 mile drag race, it would beat a 5.0L \"the Boss is Back\" Mustang and '82 Corvette and would give an '84 Corvette a run for its money. \r\n\r\nONLY because of people like John Heinricy pushing the limits that everything got better EVERY year after this is reason we are where we are today with 800 HP street cars.
