These are sweet cars, relatively simple, great fun to drive. Bought in '92, mine needed suspension work (ball joints, tie-rod ends, etc., which improved handling nicely. The trunk latches rarely work right but can be modified. These wheels and hubcaps seem to be from a later Alfa, but no big deal. Gauges are different from my '65. Main thing to look for is rust, which I don't see here. It has girling front disk brakes and the same instrumentation as this car. It has a 5 speed. It is now going through its second restoration because I love it. It is a normale, but I had to swap engines because previous owner left it in the weeds with no head and the cylinders might have had a salamander living in one of them. I digress. The 101 chassis (Guilia) is longer than the 750 (Giulietta) chassis. Transmissions went from 4 to 5 speed units. Engines went to 1600 from 1300. Tail Lights became larger. The hoods sported the new vent lip intake with chrome trim. The gauges were upgraded with a new look and higher MPH on the speedo. Brakes went to disks in the front with massive aluminum 2-shoe drums in the rear. Both the 101 and 750 models were manufactured simultaneously for a couple of years and yes the early 101's may have had some of the 750 parts for a while early on. By 64 that had settled down and continued very stably through 66 with some changes is parts suppliers from time to time.\r\n\r\nThis car is a normale not a veloce despite the script on the rear. Someone has installed webers ( an excellent upgrade) making this an \"abnormale\". When the webers are added, you have to change the motor mounts to kick the engine over a bit or the carbs will not clear the inside fenders requiring beating them into submission which was often done early on. Several different rear end ratios were available, the sweetest of which is the 512. With a well done weber/cam/header upgrade these are a blast to drive. They easily outperform the earlier Giuliettas and are not anemic with regard to power.\r\n\r\nThis car doesn't have the correct wheels and the veloce script added to the rear is unfortunate, but looks to be a great driver. They tend to go through spark plugs with hotter cams but what a way to enjoy an Italian sports car.
