I had it painted. Stripes are painted on, and clear coated. Motor was rebuilt by a local sprint car engine builder. In addition to forged pistons, the heads were re done, crane valve springs, heads CC'd 202 cam. Exhaust custom done by Alex exhaust in Bridgeport PA. Lots of other stuff. I havent seen the car since but it was a zero rust car and everything ( brakes suspension, motor etc were redone when I owned it. Looks like it held up pretty well. (I graduated in 2002). My grandfather used to collect cars and had a beautiful blue 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland with a 4 Speed. He promised me it would be my first car. As fate would have it a train went buy and a spark set the field on fire. My grandfathers pole barn with 30ish collector cars burnt to the ground. My Mustang was gone! The firefighters were able to save my uncles 1969 427 Corvette. After the planes were done dropping water on the field and the insurance inevitably screwed my grandfather over. He went on a vacation with my grandmother, they went to California and visited a cousin who collected foreign cars. My grandfather called me and asked me if I wanted a 1975 Triumph TR7 or an Alfa Romeo Spider. Not knowing much about British cars and knowing how finicky Italian cars where, I chose the Triumph. I drove my TR7 (electrical gremlins and all) in H.S. but mostly the 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2 door I got from my dad. In my TR7 the gas gauge did not work but the low fuel light did, it had a high pitched air horn with a click on and off switch (the air tank would sometimes empty itself in the back yard) and if I turned too sharp the radio would cut out. The catalytic converter popped open like a can of crescent rolls once when I was driving and made a terrible sucking sound. Even with all of the \"British car problems\" I had a great time with the car and would love to own one again. The first was a 76 BRG coupe with tan interior. I was the second owner and it was in such good condition that most of the folks around me thought it was a new car! (Who knew they stopped production four years prior?) My father,who I was living with at the time, helped me buy it and I was making payments to him. Senior year I moved back in with my mother and traded it for what I rally wanted. A newer car. One with fewer miles. And FUEL INJECTION! I was really stepping up in the world with my 1980 Fiat X-19!! I traded the Tr-7 for the Fiat and paid an extra $400. It was a Tuesday in July. The targa top was glorius for about an hour. It died and another $400 later was up and running. I drove it back to the used car dealer that sold it to me to get my TR-7 back. I offered an even trade and he knew better than to take that Fiat back. Six moths later I bought a very rusty TR-7 conv. Silver with blue plaid. My girlfriend (and later wife) had a blue hardtop with a vinyl roof that slid back, accordion style, about 30 inches. It was cool seeing the cars parked together. Like book ends, er, door stops. Sorry if I bored anyone. I always thought I could redeem myself with a TR-8 and get that high school sweetheart back. I'm going to bid now. That may have something to do with the \"aftermarket\" cam, which is a very crappy description. \nDoes aftermarket mean performance? Or does it mean a replacement stock cam made by a company other than Rover? Same for the pistons? What's the compression ratio?\nBAT needs to ask better questions. I did give the buyer the cam card, piston info, jetting info etc. BUT, that was 20? years ago? More than 15 for sure.
