It had no power whatsoever and could barely reach 30MPH in a mile long stretch of roadway near his home. The seller reached out the next day to say that it had been poorly tuned when I was handed the keys and offered to let me see it again, but I had already made another purchase so declined. I'm guessing that it's running better now, and I'm sure that the seller can provide more details. Don't worry about minor paint imperfections, as they would all be taken care of during a full repaint, which this needs. During the earlier repaint the clear coat must have been mixed too thin, as it has pretty much all but worn off altogether, giving the finish a dull, almost matte, lustre. Like I said, I'm still a fan, and if it had 80+HP and didn't need paint, it would be in my own shop now. It would have been either a 1980 or 1981 chassis. To answer your question about VW parts. The vast majority of the chassis parts are the same as your 1979, 1600 Beetle. As for Puma parts you can either purchase them from Purring Pumas, a USA based parts supplier. Or as I did you can connect with a person from Brazil and he/she can send you the parts for a small service fee.
