There is none better. All the little stuff was corrected early, and it has the serviceable EEC-V Ford engine control with full OBD2 diagnosis. If you have an OBD2 reader/tester, or a \"Star Tester\", you can run all of the dealer or factory testing on the system along with plain language code read out. This makes servicing much easier. Also, it runs like it came out of a manufacturer's factory. Perfect. \r\nIt's fast, reliable and well cared for. \r\n\r\nThe 1960 date on the engine is a California rule, in that CA specifies the year of the engine, regardless of origin. \r\n\r\nAs for driving in the rain. I took mine to Phoenix, from Thousand Oaks, in driving rain, and back, cruising at 80 most of the time. No leaks, and it was comfortable. The windshield wipers and the demister/HVAC worked great. The tires, Bridgestones, worked just fine in the wet. \r\nNo leaks. As for being a \"mostly track\" car, well... It certainly is an excellent track car, that will take you from corner to corner more quickly than you ever thought imaginable, pull better than 1G without being scary at all... And then, take you home in air conditioned comfort, with a compliant ride and excellent stability. More than 12 years later, this is still one of the best sports car extant. \r\n\r\nThis one has Konis and a proper chassis setup. They are perfectly valved, and the ride height has been properly set. The \"Rossion branded calipers\" are AR race calipers. Really Excellent brakes. \r\n\r\nThe registration in California is ultra legal, and requires no emissions testing. It was done under SB100 rules, with no issues. It can be registered anywhere, as a Rossion. It even has a Rossion VIN#. The VIN indicates that it's the 4th Rossion built. \r\n\r\nRossioins are much the same as the earlier Noble M400, but with simplified servicing (you can change the clutch without removing the engine), better HVAC and shifting, a modern Ford engine management system that is dealer serviceable and matched to the engine, improved cooling for the charge air cooler and engine oil with a much better interior and gauge layout. \r\nThe full cage is still hidden in the interior, properly finished and upholstered. The harnesses have proper mountings while the original 3 point belts are still useable as intended. \r\nThe seats are adjustable, and adjusted for comfort. There are few performance cars as comfortable to drive as this Rossion. \r\nThe quality of the fit and finish is quite nice. The paint is particularly nice, and the interior materials hold up well. \r\nThat it has 18,000 miles is telling. This one is driven and enjoyed, indicating that it was properly set up and useful. Generally, you don't see miles on this sort of performance car, as they are a PITA, too many issues, or too scary. This one is really useful and pleasing to drive. The miles indicate that it is sorted, and a real car that can be driven. I don't have any information as to the material specifications. If you are planning on racing the car, you will have to modify or build a new cage (among other things). \n\nBut, remember that this car cost over $100,000 when it was delivered, and is worth considerably more than the current bid. It is one of the nicest Rossions in existence, and has been fully developed and driven. \nIt would be a shame to cut it up. It is just fine for track day lapping, being really quick and rewarding to drive. There is nothing to do, other than to check your tire temps and adjust pressures accordingly. It doesn't need more power (it will pull a Bugatti Veyron 0-60), and can hit 190. The integrated cage/space frame is rigid. The chassis structure is very stiff. And... it has A/C for the drive home. \nIn addition, if you figure the weight on this car at 2450 lbs with a driver (I corner weighted the car when I did the original suspension setup), you will end up running super production classes, against tube framed Ex TransAM cars. I know of a couple of Noble/Rossions that were raced, and while they were blindingly fast, they were in classes with blindingly fast, proven, fully developed racecars, with big V8s and less weight.\n Just about nobody was any good at independently developing the Duratec twin turbo engine for reliability for a single race, let alone a season (everyone thought that 600 HP was better than 475, which is reliable power output). Once you put it on the track, you will have to develop the car, on your own, and do this on a once a month basis (at best). When you have a problem or failure, you will have to haul it home, make changes and then have to drag it back to the track to test. You will get tired of building engines, figuring out cooling for the oil, coolant, and induction (as one does with every production car to racer conversion, only this time, you will be a pioneer, with no factory race manual to work with. NOTE: A \"Pioneer\" is a dirt farmer with an arrow in his butt). \nThis is not so much a problem for track days on stock power (you may have to move the oil cooler to the front of the car (easy) and toss in an extra quart of oil (common for many cars at track days). It may be just fine as it is. However, if you have any sort of engine program, well... Even if you get it working well, you will find yourself in a class where the car still is not competitive. Seriously, the one thing that the Rossion doesn't need is more power. \nAnd...\nIn the end, If you built it into a racer, your investment will be worth only a fraction of the value of the car had you just enjoyed it as it is now. Better you buy a fully developed track car. \nWhy not just enjoy it as one of the finest sports cars ever built, run it at track days/time attack, then drive it home? I have been doing that with my cars for more than 50 years, and it has always been fun. No blown engines, fried clutches, or trips home on a stretcher. \nThis Rossion is too nice to mess with. The owner is an enthusiast and is a very nice guy.\r\n\r\nThere is clear protectant on part of the hood, the rear clamshell where you put in fuel, on the roof for 10 inches or so behind the window, and a few other places. The protectant on the roof looks a bit dull, but nothing that needs addressed right now.\r\n\r\nThe interior is in really good shape. All the alcantara looked good and it has a forward facing camera that you can see in the right side of the rear view mirror, that I really liked. Looked like all the gauges were working, however I didn't see the coolant rise much, but the oil temp gauge did start to rise, and the boost gauges worked.\r\n\r\nWhen he fired it up, the exhaust has a great sound to it. He took me on a little drive, it is very quick and the one time we really hit it, it made a sweet whistling sound. It is a sports car but seemed to ride very well, better than I expected it would. The tires were 2016 date codes and seemed to grip well. I did notice a light on the dash, which is from the brakes. I think he said it is when you release the parking brake, there is a sensor or something that needs adjusted. The differences are slight, for the most part service related, and to incorporate new parts, such as the HVAC controls. \r\n\r\nThere is a removable frame element in the Rossion that allows the clutch to be changed without removing the engine. The rear toe links in the Rossion rear suspension are adjustable, eliminating the need to pull the wheel, damper and link to adjust rear toe. \r\nThe Rossion's engine received a Ford EECV engine control package, supplied and programmed by Tier 1 Ford Performance supplier Dunne-Rite Performance. It features full OBD2 capability, and adaptive programming with Ford factory reliability. Dunne-Rite also provided the mass air and wiring harness for the ECU and engine control package. This offers major manufacturer reliability and ease of service. This is not an adaptation, but rather a specific EECV application to the Rossion spec twin turbo Duratec V6. The OBD2 port is behind the passenger seat, at the firewall, next to the ECU cover. \r\n \r\nAs I recall, the Noble racerecars had additional tubes added to the integrated cage, including anti intrusion bars and cross brace. Of course, this tightened up the interior space, and required hollowing out of the doors. \r\n\r\nAbout the ride... The car has plenty of suspension travel and a relatively soft setup. It is not lowered to the bump stops. The car is at standard Rossion ride height, and can easily handle a bumpy corner, or the roughest parts of Mulholland or Little Sycamore canyon. It has custom valved Koni dampers, which do an exceptional job. Cornering can exceed 1.1G. My suggestion is to not mess with the suspension, other than to set the tire pressures. \r\nI made many long trips in both Rossion and Noble, finding the cars comfortable, and the HVAC more than adequate. \r\nWhile the Rossion's handling is forgiving, and will take good care of its driver, it is still a 450 HP in a 2500 lb package and will accelerate from here to trouble in less than 3 seconds if one is not careful. It has tremendous braking capability and amazing steering, with virtually no understeer, but no \"nannies\", such as traction control or ABS. This requires a couple of wrenches, both inside and under the car to remove the seats. \r\nNote that the seats have to be removed to adjust the rake on the seat tracks. Raking the seat back, lowering the rear pivot and raising the front pivot, will increase head room for taller drivers. \r\nNot many Nobles or Rossions got their seats properly adjusted, as they have to be unbolted to do the adjustment. I made an adjustment on every car I delivered, prior to handing it over to the new owner, moving the front pivot to the #3 hole, and lowering the rear. This made the seat much more comfortable. This adjustment was made to this Rossion prior to delivery. \r\n\r\nAs far as needing more power, this is sort of silly, when the Rossion's standard engine setup has quick throttle response, and can already light the tires in 3 gears without a problem. It can also be throttle steered, and can hit over 136 in the 1/4 mile. The chassis has as much power as can be practically used, and the power unit is reliable at that output. \r\nOne other thing... Don't deviate from the stock tire sizes, especially in the rear. Putting on a lower aspect ratio, wider tire will just make the car unstable, especially when the power hits. Stock, recommended tire size is best. \r\n\r\nI once met with pro driver and driver coach Craig Stanton at a Willow Springs track session with AASCO. I brought along my Noble for him to drive (while I was driving a fresh-off-the-boat Porsche cup car). He was enthusiastic, wanting to run a Noble M400 in the Thunder Hill 25 hour. His one request... \"Reduce the power.
