I needed transportation, a summer project to keep me out of trouble and this just happened to be sitting in front of their house a few blocks away. It was rusty, dirty inside and sported a somewhat-fresh bullet hole in the driver's side rear quarter panel from the previous owner's son driving through the wrong side of town. I paid the dollar, and we pushed it to the driveway at my parents' house. After a bit of fresh gasoline, it was obvious the fuel tank had a hole. After finding someone willing to weld a patch on a fuel tank (!), I was back in business. The car ran like a fine sewing machine. Unfortunately, the rust worm had really done a number on the subframe mounting bolts to the front end, and I had to retire the car after almost a year of driving it. I just sold an 83. The civics were a 1.3 2 valve head, 1.5 3 valve, accords were 1.7 3 valve, 1.8 3 valve and after 83 2 valve 1.8. Perhaps the replacement was actually an 84? Perhaps the Weber compensates for the 3rd chamber intake. It would have been a much smaller single hole in the top of the intake toward the cyl head side. The rich cv valve mixture was used to ignite the much leaner intake chambers. But as long as it\u2019s running and idling smoothly maybe he Weber is set up for this operation.
