Service is simple with OEM Ducati parts. \n\nHow else can you own something that is one of only 264 and still use and enjoy it? \n\nThese are the SL that Ducati should have made. Actual weight savings and performance increase. If you like \"slow bike fast\" it does not get much better than this. Owned a 1000SS, DB4 and DB2 at the same time, so got to see the evolution. \n\nLooks like this example comes with the \"sport kit\" tank should the next owner want to install FCRs. The spare parts include a new set of fixed footpegs I sourced, as well as the original amber fork reflectors that were never installed...\r\n@Surffly - I recognize your username from Ducali.ms - I used your posts from 2022 when I did the belt service recently! As you know better than me the optional 'Sports Kit' included 3 parts: I have a new unused tank (with recesses for different carbs and a mounting bracket) but in addition a set of Keihin FCR39 carbs, and a Corse Ti 2 into 1 slip-on pipe would be needed. The carbs are relatively available, but the Corse pipe is extremely rare. However, the bike runs well with the standard carbs, but is extremely cold-blooded even with a choke. \r\nIncidentally, the bike is VIN #2 for 2000, but Bimota are notorious for resetting the number every year ! Also, in the case of registration in California, if it has less than 7500 miles on the odometer, the sticker will need to say California, not just Federal standards. The actual equipment is not inspected at all by the California verifier, only the sticker, and the bike would never again be inspected by anybody. I believe that is a common issue and would probably not be an obstacle for a California verifier, if the sticker were stuck on the bike. \n\nPhoto 77 shows clearly that this bike has carburetors. Terblanche styled Ducati 900SS\u2019s starting in 1998 (and all SS\u2019s produced starting from 1999) had EFI. However 900 Monsters did not get EFI until 2000 so a 1999 Monster 900 has carburetors, like this bike.\n\nI hope I\u2019m not sounding picky.
