A couple of questions for the seller: Is this the original color? Is there any rust on the car? Can you describe the paint imperfections on the trunk lid? Any idea what the original mileage is? The seller was planning on coming back to NYC for school, and offered to drive it to me in the Philadelphia suburbs in exchange for a $129 plane ticket from Philadelphia to NYC LaGuardia. He packed the car with his stuff, and set off on 9-10, with an estimated arrival of 9-12. During his two day trip, the world changed. Flights were grounded. People were told to avoid large groups. The car arrived as expected on 9-12. My wife was very pleased with it. I bought the seller an Amtrak ticket the afternoon of 9-11, and put him on the train to Newark on 9-12. A friend of his picked him up at Newark. \r\n\r\nAnd what of the car? It was less than expected. On my test drive, the bolt that holds the shift lever in place came off and the shift lever detached. I was literally holding it in my hand, not connected to anything. After pulling over and fitting it back in place, I walked back down the street and found the bolt and washer. It was a complete disaster the first year I had it - I suspected it was assembled after a long, wine soaked lunch time on a Monday afternoon. A partial list of what went wrong (all fixed under warranty):\r\n\r\n1) The throwout bearing died. \r\n2) The synchros for gears 1-4 died. Fifth gear used a different type of synchro and was fine. I quickly learned the fine art of double clutching!\r\n3) The tail pipe broke off such that it sent the exhaust directly onto the brake line. This boiled the brake fluid and lead to a few frantic seconds of pumping to get the brakes back.\r\n4) The cover plate on the steering box loosened and all the lubrication the the steering leaked out. The steering became VERY stiff.\r\n5) The shifter came loose from the transmission. someone else mention this happening to them as well. In my case, I was shifting from second to third going uphill in Atlanta rush hour traffic. When I got to neutral, I no longer had any ability to shift gears. I pulled into a parking lot and discovered that with a little fishing around with the shift lever I could get it seated again. Keeping pressure on the lever at all times allowed me to keep it seated for the rest of the drive home.\r\n\r\nI've probably forgotten a few of the adventures after 40+ years.
