Almost half are still on the road 68 years after the last one rolled off the line at Abi9ngdon. Why? These cars are a blast to drive. Really. Not much horsepower, but keeping it on the boil is constantly entertaining. They're just quick enough to go on an expressway, if you're careful not to get run over by large trucks. I see something weird with the exhaust, but a complete stainless exhaust system is inexpensive and easy to install. The car may need a new wiring harness, again, not expensive. Wiper motors are a problem, but easy to overhaul. Water infiltrates along the shaft which sticks through the windshield frame out into the rain. There is no drain hole, so water collects inside the motor causing grief. I put a small drain hole in mine and haven't had a problem since. The gear box for the wipers needs to be cleaned and lubricated after all this time, so figure a couple of hours to rebuild and reinstall. Parts and club support are no problem. A TD offers more fun per dollar than almost any other collectable car.
