It was just enough for the drivers side front tire to just barely touch the inside of the fender trim so you can see in the pictures that some of the paint rubbed off. \r\n4. Small dent at the rear of the drivers side fender lip. Also shown in the pictures. \r\n5. The rubber trim across the trunk lid is cracked. \r\n6. Above the drivers side \"c\" pillar there are 3 scratches. See pictures\r\nInterior:\r\n7. There are 3 cracks in the wood surrounding the shifter. (see pictures)\r\n8. The sunroof has been recommended to have the cables replaced. It is still functional but may fail at some point. I don't use it so it wasn't a priority for me. \r\n9. I uploaded a couple of my favorites. Me with Matt Farah and also the rest of the cars that he did a One Take of that day. Another from The California Dream Cruise where I met one of my idols, Craig Lowndes. Another couple of favorite memories is taking it to a track day at Thunderhill raceway. I disconnected the ASR and coming out of the last corner onto the front straight it would subtly drift as it kicked down into second. Taking it up to somewhere north of twice the speed limit and almost crapping my pants when I heard a bang. Only to find out that the right turn signal jettisoned. My friend in his Miata who I left long behind saw something and wondered what it was. Now we knew. Pulling in to valet parking at places like the Ritz and having the valets tell me that I had a nice car. Happens more often than you think. Ironically the head of the Golden Gate Mercedes Club Chapter contacted me on Thursday because he saw that I had a 500E and he wanted to do an event down in my area. Keep in mind all of my servicing was done at a Mercedes dealership. I chose that because they had a shop foreman that was there when these were new. Also, I wanted the comfort that they used 100% OEM parts and warranty. So, an independent shop would most likely be cheaper. Typically they say to budget $7k in deferred maintenance on these cars. That means maintenance that is critical to the health of the vehicle. I have taken care of that so the only items needing attention are secondary and not critical to the enjoyment of the vehicle. There is actually only one cable for the sunroof. If you review my spreadsheet you will see the recommendation there. It works but eventually it could fail and remain open. Unfortunately unlike the older 450 SEL\u2019s it does not come with a crank and a receptor in the roof. So, if it eventually fails it could remain open. The only issue that I had with the sunroof was that it would not close flush with the roof. The passenger side would be about 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch lower. That annoyed me so I asked them to investigate. It could work well for many year\u2019s. They just made the recommendation and I want to be 100% transparent since it is mentioned in the service records. Why am I selling? Ugh! I went through a divorce this last year. Part of it was due to my undying passion for cars. I also lost my job due to COVID on 12/18. I just found work but have a bunch of debt. So, I have a daily driver (2016 Ford Focus ST), my overlanding vehicle (1996 Lexus LX450 built to the hilt with a supercharger) and my track car (2005 Subaru STi that was campaigned by Subaru of America and won the 2006 SCCA runoffs.
