Which is understandable, it's a first generation system.\r\n\r\nThe maintenance issue is that the ASR makes the car different from all the other W126 cars. Timing chain issues etc usually show themselves at startup with some noise. When new owner gets this car, listen to engine, she will tell you. It isn't that expensive to take a look inside engine. It isn't the mileage, its the age that may be of a concern but it isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme. I am taking on the project of engine replacement on one of mine replacing with a late model Mercedes V8 then upgrading brakes etc to accommodate the increased power.
