With a few issues notwithstanding it should do very well. My two cents worth and a few more here. I owned a '67 Z model back in '72. It was just a fast car to me then. The previous owner did apply Z28 emblems to the front fender which was fine with me. I wanted everyone back then to know I drove a nasty bad to the bone Camaro. The speedo in the car only went to 120 mph but the tach kept creeping up after that. Not sure how fast I eventually went on that lonely new stretch of 210 freeway but don't think I've topped that speed since. All this on bias ply Goodyear Plolyglas GT tires. I sold the car a few years later thinking I'd better before I kill myself. Or someone else. I must have forgotten to include the owner's manual in the sale because it sets here on my desk complete with Protect O Plate and factory code numbers. I remember putting a Hurst T handle in the car which was popular back then. So, the gorgeous white Hurst ball shift knob is here as well along with a 1/18 model in the same Tahoe Turquoise color. It's impressive. Having said that, I will do my best to answer the questions in the thread below. As background, I purchased the car about 3 1/2 years ago. I had always wanted a vintage Z28 and when I came across this one I couldn't resist. It's been a great car and has been garaged inside the entire time I have owned it. I hate to part with it but am simply out of garage space. I had the car inspected by a local mechanic I knew once I got it to San Diego. He had done a lot of work on vintage Camaros, Mustangs and Corvettes. He was very impressed by the car and said it was very clean. I had him replace the Muncie shifter with a Hurst shifter (the Muncie shifter is included with the car as well). I have included photos of the documentation I received from the prior owner - Jerry MacNeish Cert of Authenticity, NCRS documentation and owner's manual. The MacNeish cert does refer to a page two that I did not receive from the prior owner. I have contacted Jerry to see if I can get that. I will also add some additional photos of the engine rebuild that the prior owner provided me. That's all the records I have on the car. Apologies but I can't answer the question about whether the car has a Muncie M20 or M21 transmission. I will ask Jerry if he can clear up that discrepancy if I can reach him. It is my understanding that the welded on brackets were for towing the car back in the day. As others have noted, the 67 Z/28 did not have the Z/28 badging. The car magazines ran many stories on it at the time, even before the car was released to the dealers. The 301ci was homolgated for SCCA Trans-Am competition. The car included a NHRA approved scatter shield, and a lighter flywheel to rev to peak HP and Torque rpms. The cowl induction shown is the actual factory option. Unfortunately the rear suspension was a Nova single leaf spring. Wheel hope was a real issue. Tore one spring mount off the axle in a not too aggressive (I thought) drag start. The rocker studs had to be pinned, as the high revving engine managed to pull one when the revs got too close to 6500rpm. Loved the car. The winner of this will love it to. Be mindfull.
