I had the trailer gutted after purchase, then I designed the way I wanted the interior to be laid out and then hired a company to do the refurb that has worked on a few trailers as well as builds houses and renovates. Everything was taken out of the trailer other than the walls, subfloor and the original tub (which was refinished). I then tackled the exterior. I polished the original oxidized aluminum to a almost mirror finish, which the first time took me well over 80 hours. I then replaced the lights with new ones, replaced the propane valves, refinished the tanks, replaced the wheels with period correct steel wheels and polished hubcaps. I found that once the sun hit the metal and it warmed up, the polish would not perform and it was harder work. I have no idea what it weighs at it sits but it can't be that different to what is listed. After screwing in blinds I can tell you that there is fiberglass insulation in between the walls. I have been camping in all 4 seasons and its totally fine. I however haven't been camping in sub freezing conditions or over 100 degree summers. Its much like a home - you can't expect the AC to bring the the temp down more than 20 degrees and the heat seems to do a little better. I have been in it when I got into the 40s and it stayed comfortable inside. It will be registered to the new owner the same way, they will have to have the officer come out to verify the numbers on the trailer so it can be registered wherever it will live. Some states didn't require a title till the mid 70s so its unclear if this trailer ever did have one.
