Steering wheel: my dealer replaced the factory airbag steering wheel with a nice, four spoke MotoLita. The diameter is slightly smaller, so it helps with getting in and out of the car. I have the OE unit in a box in my garage. Ditto for the knee bolsters that were under each side of the cockpit. Removing them added lots of leg space. As for the safety aspects, \"at least I'm not riding a motorcycle.\" Radio: my +8 has a radio fitted well under the dash. There isn't a faceplate for it; no one knows where it went. The unit is a Blaupunkt. While on the dealer's lot, the tech disconnected the unit because it was (for some reason) always on and it drained the battery. I haven't bothered to do anything about it because in all honesty, one might be able to hear the radio while sitting still, but while driving? I don't think so. AC: At a recent British car meet the guy next to me, also with a 2003 +8, said that for long trips - such as across the USA which he did a couple of times - with his top up and side curtains on - the AC worked well for keeping he and his wife comfy. It's a \"Bonnet\", and it is CENTER HINGED. \"Independent shocks and springs\"? Independent of what? The front end is a sliding pillar, a very early form of independent suspension and part of every \"classic Morgan\". The rear uses leaf springs and tube shocks. These later cars have rack and pinion steering, and are very responsive. \r\n\r\nThe best part of these V6 Morgans is the balance, with the V6 sitting back in the chassis, being lighter than the Rover V8, and having more power. The car is pretty light as well, with alloy coachwork. The V6 Morgan is quick, and handles quite well, considering its '30s DNA. The suspension works well with the relatively wide, contemporary tires. It is fun to pitch around, has a very responsive engine, and can push you right back in the seat. I can't imagine why the owner would \"never drive it on any highway\"... Where would one drive it in FL? Anyway, these are excellent highway cruisers, if a bit drafty. Speed is no problem, and they are quite nice on the highway, on the way to a nice mountain road with proper curves. The ride and handling is from another era, but the brakes are powerful and the feedback through the steering, granular. You can run over a dime and read the mint mark. It's fun in a way that a Miata or any '60s TR or MG could never be. At just over 2000 lbs with over 200 HP, you will find the machine quite quick, especially with the road rushing by under your elbow. 'Nothing quite like it, other than another Morgan. \r\n\r\nThe radio situation, being hidden down around the passenger's ankles, is a common installation. How one could actually hear the radio has been a mystery to me. Maybe with the top up, maybe... I am pretty sure that you can purchase a face plate for the radio, should you need one. \r\n\r\nThe \"reclining\" seats don't really have much room to recline, but they are on adjustable rails. Generally, a comfortable driving position is found, though the steering wheel may be closer than one might find in a more contemporary design. \r\n\r\nThe choice of keeping the air bag hinges on how much an owner dislikes the steering wheel. Typically, the GM airbag wheel is removed and a MotoLita wheel is installed. There are several types, in both wood and leather rims. \r\n\r\nI guess that the A/C would be useful, should one put up the top, but... I have never put up the top on my Morgan, probably because it doesn't have A/C. I guess living in Fl may require A/C. I have not needed it in CA, but then, I never carry the top with me, or the side curtains. Such is motoring in So Cal. \r\n\r\nThe V6 Roadsters are properly developed, reliable and feature a quality of fit and finish reflecting its hand built manufacture. These are not \"air wrench\" assembled cars. There are good parts suppliers, and service is not difficult (the chassis, specifically the front end will need regular lubrication) or too demanding. Many of the Morgan owners I have met have had their cars for decades. The sort of grow on an oner. I drive it on long tours, in the canyons and out to the desert. No problems with stone chips, ground clearance or trucks (they usually don't move suddenly, and the Morgan has great brakes and is very maneuverable). Driving on freeways, interstates and back roads have never given me anything but pleasure. Did I mention that I live in So Cal, with lots of traffic, and great roads? \r\nThese cars are best when driven on real roads, and enjoyed. Nobody will be bothered by the odd stone chip (though you can put a clear coating over the wings and cowl if you like), and the patina does have a value. Morgans are lovely, and make a nice vanity purchase, for a while. They are best enjoyed, though for some, the non power steering, stiffer ride of the \"classic\" chassis and driving position may be too much \"occasion\" to really enjoy the car. Getting in is easy, but getting out is another exercise. The adjustments are no more difficult to live with than trying to back up a Lamborghini Countach into a parking space... And then, the Morgan is much more fun to drive. Here, in my neighborhood, there are many Ferraris, Lambos... And I am in the canyons with my Morgan, a car half as wide, a meter shorter, and perfectly suited to running that guy in the Gallardo ragged across Little Sycamore Canyon Rd. \r\n\r\nNow, for the uninitiated: The Morgan doesn't have a \"trunk\". That's the fuel tank back there, just in front of the spare tire. The body sits on a wood support structure, and has wood for an inner structure, typical of '30s coachwork. The frame is steel. Some Morgans have steel bodies, this one has an alloy body. Steel or alloy, they are very light, at under 2500 lbs for the heaviest ones. This V6 is probably less. My old +8 (aluminum V8 engine) weighs in at 1, 900 dead, with 3/4 fuel, at the curb. This low weight even makes 200 HP feel like all the pwwer in the world, giving excellent performance. \r\nFor touring, many Morgans have an accessory luggage rack that can sit against the spare tire, or be folded down flat to carry stuff that won't fit behind the seats. I had one that now sits on a shelf. I travel light. \r\nThis one is lightly used, and will go for a very good price (for the seller) I suspect. It is a good investment, as Morgans of any sort are getting to be very rare as the owners keep them, and the production numbers stay low. \r\nI wish that could buy this one.
