They came with no air cleaner from the factory. They did come with engine splash pans which helped seal the engine compartment from the road by sealing off the area between the engine and the frame. This vehicle does not have them. The aftermarket cleaners, were for the most part, able to stop rocks and small items from being sucked into the intake. They were certainly not anywhere close to filtering the air like we see in our modern vehicles.\nThis vehicle appears to be a very nice Model A. I certainly like the rudimentary approach to it's restoration. Too many A's these days are over restored. I am guilty of owning a Town Sedan that fits the over restored category. However, in the realm of things pertaining to \"old cars,\" 99 % of the public just sees them as something unusual from the distant past.\nIts's kind of funny, my oldest and least valuable car in my collection, a 1926 Ford Model T Touring, receives more attention than anything that would be considered more exotic.\nThis A will be great fun for the next owner. Anything beyond that would be taxing the motor and could cause damage, unless you have what is called a \"touring engine\" with a counterbalanced crankshaft, high compression head, insert bearings and other upgrades to accommodate the extra revs. \n\nI hope this is helpful info. This can lead to disappointment if they have the mindset that this vehicle from the past, most likely will perform and be maintained like their Prius.\r\nAnyone about to purchase a collector car, owes it to themselves, to invest the time in obtaining the knowledge of that automobile's capabilities and maintenance requirements. \r\nWhen you think about the Model A, a car that is now over 90 years old, you need to realize that they were driven on rudimentary roads with speed limits in many towns of 15 mph. The super highways of the day were most likely two lanes with most vehicles running in the 35-45 mph range.
