I learned to drive on one like this. It was seafoam green and ivory with a two-tone green interior. But ours had neither power steering or power brakes. Quite the handful. Love the colors here.\r\nOne of my favorite stories with our Century involved a vacation trip. We had filled the gas tank and continued on our journey. After a bit, my father noted that the fuel gauge was dropping rather quickly so we stopped and opened the hood. Found out that the fuel pump diaphragm was damaged and leaking fuel. My father was a super mechanic and always carried a tool box in the car whenever we went on long trips. The errant fuel pump was removed in quick order but what to do with the damaged diaphragm? After a bit of searching along the side of the road, he spotted a discarded tire with an inner tube. In a relatively short time, a temporary diaphragm was made from the inner tube, installed in the fuel pump and tested. It worked! The repair lasted until we could get to a service station and get a proper replacement pump installed. Can't do that any more!
