That is until you are reminded that $350 is a month's mortgage payment and that your parents make slightly above minimum wage. \nBut so long as the little beige Honda appeared at the same spot with the 4sale sign, there was hope.\nWell, one day it didnt and that was it. Statistics can be a cruel mistress. It had to happen.\n\nYears went by and all three kids got college degrees and did very well in this wonderful adopted country. But my parents never forgot this or other occasions when they could not get us that extra luxury item. In spite of our best efforts to convince them, they always thought that they could have done better for us. Dad would sometimes mention the Honda with guilt. I finally put an end to that nonsense and pointed to his hard work and contribution to my engineering degree. He smiled and finally agreed to let that story go. Honda also brought the N360 to US which was almost same but with 360cc engine. \r\nThey were indeed under powered. \r\n\r\nI built one of yhe N600 as solo racer in California in 1980 and it did quite well in tight courses. One for me and 3 others for friends. At one race we placed 1,2,4 with a TVR grabbing 3rd. We killed so many cranks with over revving. We used to import 2 at a time. \r\n\r\nBut with reasonable use they got about 42 MPG at 65 MPH.
