There is a 130 page ownership thread for this specific car over on GMS forums, and before anything, I sincerely, sincerely hope that whoever buys this car continues that tradition and doesn't just disappear into the wind. We the community of people who watched after this car want to see it go to a good home and live for many hundreds of thousands kms/miles more.\r\n\r\nHappy to answer questions about the car, but at a high level: ownership is documented all the way to the beginning (VMI up to the headbolt owner, and then invoices/pictures/forum threads after). Much has been renewed on the car (with documentation) - headbolts, transmission valve body and conductor plate, aux battery (yeah, it's a NIGHTMARE to get to), other things mentioned in the listing. I've been working on some cosmetic stuff too - I updated the rearview mirrors (the NA market ones were weird, almost as if they were zoomed, so I put Euro ones on), the engine cover (the missing Mercedes logo was bothering me), replaced the orange markers with body colour ones (but I painted them, and I'm not too happy with how they turned out, so I'm giving a can of 960 paint and top coat so you can fix it if you want), and other stuff.\r\n\r\nImportant note that may or may not matter to some - there are NO smells in the car. I've spoken to the previous owners and none of us smoke, so you will be happy to find that there are no odd smells or fresheners or cigarette smoke or any other smells at all in the car, which, coupled with the condition of the interior (and the fact that everyone has had kids in this car!) is actually relatively impressive.\r\n\r\nAlso, ignore the wheels in the cover pic. That said, I am quite worried about salt and its effect on any car, much more so on one I was planning on keeping for a long time, so when I got it last year, it caught the tail end of winter (3 weeks, and about 1,100 kms according to my records), and this year we had snow from mid-December or so, so I've done about 800 kms. Someone noticed! Ok, so here's the story with the climate control panel. When I got the car, everything was in F (obviously). I wanted to switch it to C, because you know, metric, so while the dash cluster is a software setting, the climate controls are obviously a little more ... involved. So I sourced a metric control panel from a Canadian R350. It's missing the Airmatic controls and so on, because the donor car didn't have it (and the R63 has the most spec anyway, aside from vented seats, which I also thought of retrofitting but didn't get around to). I took apart both panels, and realised that while the passenger side was an easy swap of the dial from the donor to the stock one, the driver's side has a temperature sensor that is soldered on, and you can't take off the degree dial without de-soldering it. I considered doing it and going all the way, but it then occurred to me that it's a cheap and easy way to do F-C conversion instead of asking Siri to do it - just look at the climate panel in your car! So I decided to leave it.
