The 2015 Z28 was and still is my favorite vehicle that Chevrolet offered during this period. The new Corvette is a well executed vehicle, but I have always preferred Camaro's. It was during the final weeks of 2015 that Chevrolet announced an incentive program allowing the dealers to offer, from several models, the oldest grounded stock for sale at 20% off MSRP. Chevrolet sent the dealers a list by model of which vehicles could be offered at the discount. Our only Z28 was 7th on the list and we were only allocated to offer the discount on the oldest three. So we sold the five older than the Z28 to our rental vehicle department, making the Z28 eligible. I bought it - MSRP $76,150 for a discount of $15,230 - sale price of $60,920. ( I paid a little less because I bought less the holdback ). It had to be a retail sale and registered as such so I paid sales tax as well. In one of the comments it has been mentioned that these cars were being sold for $50,000 which is possible on a base optioned car less holdback and a loss of a couple of thousand dollars. We did not see pricing that low in Florida. The Z28's in Florida were all sold before the end of the year. I sold mine several years ago for some reason that now escapes me. The car is not an everyday driver - the headers dropping to roughly three inches from the ground ( almost impossible to get in and out of many driveways ). The drive is stiff to the point that driving at 80mph on the highway will bounce you up and down in the seat. The car made it into production in 2014 because Mark Ruess wanted to push the limits of the Camaro design team - specifically performance characteristics. My wife wouldn't drive it, the kids would never ride in it ( no french fries between the seats ), and it was MY car - a guys car. I recently bought a 5,000 mile one, my fourth one. 1st one bought new at the 20% off, quickly traded for a new Z06. Regretted that quickly. Bought another one new and had Redline mod the motor (kept it NA with cams, intake, headers, etc) to a 610hp beast. Traded it for a new ZL1\u2026 regretted it and bought another Z/28 and modified the motor. Than bought many other American muscle cars\u2026 Demon, GT350R, GT500 Track package\u2026 sold all to go back to my current Z/28\u2026 soon to have the Redline motor work done. (dropped valves & in a later 2012 forward yrs rods Ti coating) were never addressed, LS7 kept having the same issue even in 14/15 camaros and catalog engines including their warranty replacement engines.\r\ngm said the problem was only in their earlier engines but coming from an owner of engine shop, belive me when i tell u, it ain't so.\r\njust my 2 cents, thats y asked the question, it is a valid concern in all LS7 engines regardless the milage as some might allude.\r\nnow that does not mean every LS7 will blow up but the issue is there, polishing the stem of the valve does not change the geometry of the head, its not the valves or even the guides that are the issue, its, the angle as well as proper or in LS7 case improper machining of the raw head.\r\ngl.\r\nbeautiful car none the less.", "likes": 2, "timestamp": 1645487147, "type": "comment"}]
