There was a 20-minute video presentation at 4:00 PM, and at 4:30 they opened a link to reserve a Collector Series Blackwing. Only the first 250 of each model were accepted. The CT5s were gone in less than 5 minutes. I prevailed and thus won the privilege to order one of these special cars. In early March my wife and I went to the dealership and ordered our car. (Keep in mind this was during COVID. There were supply chain, plant shutdowns and labor problems.) In late January 2022 I was notified that it was in route and given the VIN, ending in 0275. I asked the dealership why the VIN was not 250 or lower since this was supposed to be one of the first 250 cars built. They told me that Cadillac didn\u2019t manufacture the cars completely in numerical order and that mine was in fact one of the Collector Series cars. We took delivery the first week of February. The dealership continued to insist that this was a Collector Series car. Within a week I concluded that I did not receive the car I should have. I contacted the Cadillac Assistant Marketing Manager over all things Blackwing. He confirmed my suspicions. The cars were built in numerical order and all Collector Series cars have a VIN ending 0001 through 0250. The marketing manager also told me he could see that I had indeed won the privilege of ordering one of the first 250. The problem was that the dealership did not process/code the order properly. He was very apologetic, insisting that this absolutely should not have happened. In the end there really was nothing that could be done to rectify the situation. The first 250 were built and sold. As a consolation prize he had the shadow box built for my car.\r\nThere is the sad story of how I won but did not receive a Collector Series CT5-V Blackwing.\r\nThe silver lining in this story is that this Blackwing is most likely the only Blackwing with a VIN ending above 0250 with the shadowbox.
