For example, Corvettes, Porsche Carreras, and Ford Mustangs. In these cars and others, there is very little continuous sheet metal without some scoop, ridge, fin, mesh, scallop, or embossed area. Jeep Wranglers tried square headlights and returned to round. Mercedes tried the pagoda rear deck treatment but let that die. The Honda Civic sport model is another example. I doubt that the perforated front ends of some of these cars are all that aerodynamic. Smoothed, continuous, curvaceous sheet metal that is aerodynamic never goes out of style.
