In the spring of 2021 I had the valves inspected and everything was to spec to no adjustments were made. The mechanic was blown away how clean the engine internals were. New Bosch spark plugs installed, new wiper arm and blades, all brake calipers were serviced, rear exhaust hangers were replaced and left rear pitman arm replaced. \r\nI've owned the car for 7yrs and it's never seen winter and has zero rust anywhere. The car is in excellent running condition. I have all maintenance records from my ownership years, but no service records prior to that. I bought the car from a mechanic in Ottawa who had bought the car from the original owner. That mechanic replaced the ignition system, engine mounts and brakes all around. I had the car independently inspected at the time of purchase which confirmed the work. \r\nI'm happy to answer any of your questions to the best of my abilities, recognizing i'm not a mechanic, but someone who appreciates nice cars and pays the professionals to keep this car running perfectly. It is not, as I am sure many of you know. Even the base model 525i automatic e34 has dual exhaust tips. And more than that, the whole exhaust system is twin pipes right from the engine. The M5 exhaust differs by having a larger pipe diameter for less restriction and a throatier deeper sound. Cool! But what the M5 has that makes it further unique is factory-fitted equal-length stainless steel tubular exhaust headers. The only 6-cylinder BMW sold in North America to be so blessed. And that is unique. Even the later E36 M3 came with cast iron exhaust manifolds, as did the earlier E24 M6. Why is this significant performance feature so overlooked?\r\nThese really are special cars... That they are also hand-assembled and were autographed by the build team is just icing on the cake. The N/A market specific cars were produced from late '89 to spring of '93. But only a total of about 1700 examples were produced.
