My wife was so impressed that we then also ordered the SUV which is scheduled to arrive next year. We are selling because we would rather keep the SUV and the market being what it is, figured now was the time to sell the R1T. I wanted to take delivery still to give the vehicle a good shake down and see how it really was for a few hundred miles as far as quality, software, etc. I am happy to report that everything surpasses my expectations. He had put a deposit on one back in 2019 and had only recently taken delivery. I asked him what his Rivian replaced. Can you guess? An F150? No. A Jeep? Wrong. A Prius? Nope. A Tesla? Incorrect. \n\nIt was......a Toyota Avalon. And it's not like the Avalon was his daily driver and he had something interesting on the side. The Avalon was his only car and had been for some time. He wasn't really a car guy, just someone who thought the Rivian was cool. Looking at it up close, it was a really nice truck, very well put together. I recently sat inside a Tesla for the first time - two in fact, the 3 and the Y - and this looked much more refined than either of the cultish-Ts.\n\nI think we're on the cusp of something transformative in the auto industry.
