I believe the actual 40,584 miles to be 100% accurate as documented by its service history and verified by the excellent compression test results as seen in the listing photos. The car added 38,000 miles during its first 10 years in Utah, then sold to a collector in Ohio and barely driven (+/- 3000 miles) over the next 20 years. The third owner refreshed the car in 2020 and spent a considerable amount of money on an all new interior, new convertible top and various mechanical improvements including 4 new tires and as noted in the above description. I purchased the car in 2022 and drove it from Columbus Ohio to Ocala Florida (800 miles) without a hitch and the car ran and runs perfectly, it's such a pleasure to drive. Other than the common to Alfa Spider, stuck heater valve because they're seldom used and a very minor oil leak, another common Alfa feature, the car is in perfect condition and ready to be enjoyed without the need for any additional expenses. The car leaks a drop or two of oil after a long run but not while sitting and no oil top offs are ever required with the two previous owners determining as not requiring attention at this time. Oh, the look wifey gave him!!!\nShe got tired of that, she wanted a car that did not leak, took them to court, they bought it back under Lemon Law. \nThe service manager bought it from the dealership for his wife....\nOver the years, I've reflected on that, and I eventually settled on: she should have gotten a flat pan/plate to put under the car and lived with it. If it\u2019s not used on a regular basis, as in this case, they will seize up. The heater slide in the cockpit works but does not open the valve, it\u2019s a very common problem with Alfas. \r\nEven in central Florida we do get those crisp winter mornings where it can get down to freezing, so a nice jacket along with my new Alfa hat which comes with the car and a good scarf, you\u2019re in clover and looking good too.
