Powered Galaxie is a very desirable Galaxie. This one offered has some key elements: the Ford tri-power induction unique to the \u201861-early \u201862 HP390 along with the G Code 406 of mid \u201862 to early \u201863. The \u201cHeader Style\u201d free flow exhaust manifolds. The special HP only fuel filter. The centrifugal dual-point distributor. What this beautiful \u201862 G-Code doesn\u2019t have is the harmonic balancer that was unique to the 406. What I see in the pictures is a standard 352-390 (Non HP) harmonic balancer. And from what I can see in the engine pics provided is a standard small pulley generator whereas the HP engines (\u201860 HP352/360hp, HP390/375-401hp, 406/385-405) had a generator featuring a large pulley that was necessary to reduce the rpm\u2019s on the generator. \r\nWe definitely need to see videos that would allow us to hear the clatter of the solid lifters that the mighty 406 engines had. It\u2019s very likely the generator has been replaced at last once in the last 60 years. Very likely the difference in pulley size was overlooked at the time of replacement. As for the harmonic balancer it\u2019s possible the 406 got a rebuild with a new replaced balancer. I want to say again this is a very desirable Galaxie. It\u2019s a -G- Code! A 405 horsepower, tri-power inducted 406. Full size \u201860s FoMoCo muscle. The color combination is beautiful. \r\n2V10hooked asked if the heads are the correct C2SE-6090. This is an important question to address. This is a casting number that can be located between spark plugs number 2 and 3 on the right (passenger) bank and between number 6 and 7 on the left (drivers) bank. It\u2019s good for buyers to be cautious and asking the right questions. Just commenting here on a few parts that a G code and most other FE hipo cars would expect to have from the factory. Picture 80, just 10 o\u2019clock of the battery shows the silver brake line coming across the front core support under the radiator. Picture 86 (showing under the radiator) and picture 98 (top left) also show evidence of this. It\u2019s rerouted this way, and not brought across on the crossmember under the engine, because the heat from the hipo exhaust manifolds will boil the brake fluid. Hipo cars also came with steering stops that are attached to the lower control arm. Some of these broke off so they might not be present anymore. We can\u2019t forget the fuel lines were 3/8\u201d, not the standard 5/16\u201d. If the seller is speculating on the rear end ratio being 4.11.1, it could have a 3.89.1.
