I had the coolant flange (plastic) crack and dump all the coolant. Annoying, but up and running the next day. Get the upgraded billet flange. Get the crank seal to prevent serpentine belt getting sucked into the engine. Easy. Most of the big stuff has been done. \r\n\r\nThose extra plush seats are an option I haven\u2019t seen in any of mine (or ones I\u2019ve looked at). The back seat looks like the perfect place for a nap. \r\n\r\nThe nav screen is an \u201conly in California\u201d homage to Italian inspired subdivision planning. Love it. Via appia. Brutus court. Who thinks up these ideas? \r\n\r\n\r\nAfter driving 996/997 and many other performance cars, the e61 can do everything they can and carry 4 kids and groceries and outperform most sporty toys. The shift knob was purchased from BMW dealer as well just about few weeks ago and i provided last 7 of the vin and this is what they gave me. We can try to get the right one if absolutely necessary. \r\n\r\nBrakes have plenty of life and i could even say that front brakes have about 90% of life. No lip on the front rotors whatsoever. Seems like front brake discs, brake pads and a pad wear sensor were replaced within last 2-3k miles. Rears are still good and have a very small lip with a 50% pad life remaining. Let me know if you need upclose pictures of the brake discs. We want to be as transparent as we can and willing to make an extra step for the fellow enthusiasts and willing to remove the wheel for a clear picture of the brakes if that is needed. I studied the invoices and wanted to add some bits.\r\nOil filter housing gasket in 2014 @ 55.7k\r\nWater pump was done in 2015 @ 70.8k\r\nOil pan gasket was also done in 2016 @ 73.5k\r\nFuel injectors also done in 2019 @ 103k\r\nOther bits were done, but these are important for N54 motor owners. Wagon has had 2 clutch replacements at 36k and 88.5k (owner not very good with 3-pedals, lol). Battery is less than 3 years old @ Dec 2018. Looks like rear brakes were done @ 63k and fronts were done @ 85.7k. @HMWC looks like the weighted ZHP shift knob - I'd say keep it (personally looks and feels better than orig). And one question: By any chance is the Owner's manual and assorted manufacturers' pamphlets with the (leather?) carrier available (seems like this bimmer has everything else, surprised I didn't find this)? Even if you don't want to run one of the many options for tunes, the JB4 can communicate via bluetooth with a tablet or phone to read and clear codes, choose 9 monitoring gauges to be displaye and log mapped information. The cost is less or the same as the jb4 but the software tuning only has much more functionality. I was in love with jb4 for two years and then my eyes were opened to MHD and I pulled two out jb4\u2019s and have MHD running in two cars. There are off the shelf tunes that have been used by thousands of people safely and MHD requires no messing with the car computer. It\u2019s not a piggyback. It\u2019s just great software. With a custom tune in a full bolt on car with upgraded turbos a tune by Wedge or some similar tuner is the way to maximize performance in a daily driving car. \r\n\r\nI have two jb4\u2019s with Bluetooth available if anyone wants them (they serve no purpose in my basement) and I\u2019d be happy get 50 percent of new price for them.
