They then shipped the chassis/doghouse back to him and he went to work restoring all mechanics and cosmetics on that unit, unimpeded by the body. Meanwhile, back at the wood shop the all new body was built. When both were done they put the body on the chassis (just like it was done in 1939) and it was done. He has the original body stashed in his shop.\r\n\r\nThis car is a gem that was just neglected, not abused or (ugh) modified. The porcelain on the manifold looks good, as does the engine. Upon internal inspection the engine might turn out to be pretty good. These were robust units.\r\n\r\nParts are plentiful and there is a great knowledge base for these in the BCA.
