And these cars are reliable if you don't abuse them (i.e., easy on the launches, don't power shift, don't get greedy with timing and boost, and stay on top of fluid changes for the engine, trans and diffs). In 2006 (Evo 9) Mitsubishi added variable valve timing, in the way of their MIVEC system, which gives the car a much broader power and more response on the low end. Additionally, the Evo 9 has a larger turbo compressor than the previous generations. The 05 Evo 8 and 06 Evo 9 do share the same 10.5cm turbine housing, however (The 03-04 Evo 8 had the smaller 9.8cm housing).\nI can't seem to find the production numbers on the SE, but I know for a fact that it's much more limited than the MR. There were 4,176 MRs exported to North America, while there were only 3,667 GSRs and SEs combined. I'd be willing to bet that the GSR number far outweighs the SE, as the SE was the very last run of the Evo 9 and only came in three colors: Apex Silver, Graphite Gray, and Tarmac Black.\nIn terms of feature differences, the only functional difference between the MR and SE is the 5spd (SE) vs. 6spd (MR). The MR also had some small non-essential features, like the factory boost/oil temp/voltage gauges.
