As such, it never even sat on the lot before I took delivery. \r\n\r\nI was meticulous about motor break-in and scheduled maintenance, and over the years that paid off. The engine still runs as smooth and as strong as the day I got it, and it doesn't consume any fluids or leak in any way.\r\n\r\nThis was a secondary car for a few years, then a daily driver for a while longer, then a secondary car again. It has always been a worry-free ride that is still comfortable and yet lots of fun to drive, and it will do it in any weather. I still consider my old B7 A4 one of the best cars I\u2019ve ever owned. Got 200k reliable miles out of it, granted I was a vw/audi tech when I owned it, still it was very reliable for an Audi. The old timing belt driven 2.0T is much more reliable than the chain driven EA888 2.0T. With an upgraded high pressure fuel pump, a good tune and a downpipe it has plenty of power for daily needs and some weekend fun. I had a Bilstein suspension with a RS4 rear sway bar on mine and it handled great. It was a tank in the snow with good tires on it. I think these make great daily drivers for someone who wants a nice car that isn\u2019t too complicated to wrench on or diagnose issues on. Audi really changed how they build things when they moved onto the B8 chassis after this. No, they do not turn with the steering wheel. These are genuine Audi e-code headlamps, and retrofitted with a Kufatec harness, but I did not include the controller or sensors required for turning or leveling. Interestingly, I see that a kit is now available for this, that I don't recall seeing when this was done years ago. The low beam cutoff is sharp and correctly aimed and provides plenty of shoulder light without interfering with oncoming traffic, and the high beam motors are correctly wired and coded to work independent of the DRLs and provide fantastic illumination. Compared to the original halogens, these are truly night and day (sorry).\r\n\r\nOne more note: I had a protection film installed over the headlights for most of their life, and only removed it last year when the film started to yellow. So the condition of the lenses is pretty good, with just some minimal pitting, and no yellowing. The wear as it should be is on the old follower, and it was replaced before going bad.\r\n\r\nThe original plastic impeller water pump was still in good shape when I swapped it out during the timing belt replacement, making way for a new HEPU metal one. This was a retrofit of the factory handsfree telephone module, with the microphone in the factory spot behind the grill above the rearview mirror. Integration of the steering wheel controls and the radio works as designed. Bluetooth music streaming (A2DP) wasn't available on these cars.\n\nSince this is a 2008, it has a symphony-ii+ radio, which offers a few options to get your music into the car that weren't all available in the non-plus radio. Third-party controllers can be purchased that integrate into the sat input, or the iPod input can be replaced and coded to act as AUX, with a 3.5\" stereo connection. Thanks", "likes": 0, "timestamp": 1720497327, "type": "comment"}, {"id": 14936951, "authorName": "kekiefer (The Seller)", "authorUrl": "https://bringatrailer.com/member/kekiefer/", "bidAmount": 0, "content": "@aform yes, I agree it's hard to tell from these photos, so I'll attempt to enumerate with words here, and explain my opinion of these flaws, since I'm definitely not a detailing expert.\r\n\r\nIn preparation for sale I took a medium cut (menzerna intensive polish) followed by a finishing polish (po-85rd) to the hood, and the rest of the car was just the finishing polish.\r\n\r\nIn direct sunlight, at just the right angles, I would best describe the finish as having some \"speckling\" to it, so it could probably just do with a good medium-heavy cut all over - the IP on the hood knocked it down there.\r\n\r\n* Photo 89 shows damage to the rear bumper plastic from a parking lot bump. There is no paint damage but the plastic has a slight vertical crease to it, so you can see the discontinuity in the reflection of the white line. Maybe someone else has an opinion if PDR can remove this, maybe by heating the plastic and smoothing it back? This is my biggest issue with the car, which is why I'm listing it first.\r\n\r\n* Most of the damage to the paint is sand/stone blasting to the hood and front bumper cover, which you can see on photos 42, 43. The few places where metal was exposed were touched up, which you can see in photo 42 on the leading edge of the hood.\r\n\r\n* Photo 61 shows a door ding on the right rear door, and light scratch below it. I think the scratch will come out with a light-medium cut. No paint damage in the ding.\r\n\r\n* Photo 81 shows a mark on the back left. I thought it was crazing in the finish, but in reviewing the photo, I think this might just be surface contamination, so probably clay will take this off.\r\n\r\n* Photo 90 shows a small scratch on the trunk lid. It looks like it will need paint touch up, but it is very small.\r\n\r\n* Photo 43 does not obviously show a mark to the trunk lid on the top surface, near the back left edge. I'll see if I can get a better picture of it tomorrow morning.\r\n\r\nAs for the wheels, they all have some amount of damage that has been addressed with matching ti silver metallic, but still visible on close inspection. I've uploaded detailed shots to show this better.
