I agree, this TC is gorgeous and hate to be offering it up on BAT, but personal circumstances have led me to do just that. I bought it last year as also thought it was gorgeous and planned to relive when I had a 49 TC from early 80's to about 2002. Then sold that to get back into Austin Healey's and plan on keeping the one I have had for close to 15 years now. But a bit of back ground on this TC. You can see in one of the pictures where it was awarded a National First Prize in 2010 from the Antique Automobile Club of America. This would have taken place during the ownership of a gentleman from Illinois that had it from 2005 to 2013 and apparently completely restored it at considerable cost based on how it looks still today. He won the First Prize in 2010. Unfortunately he must have passed away as it was then sold out of his estate to a high end classic car dealer in the Chicago area in 2014. A new owner bought it it in 2014 and took it to Sarasota, Florida where he wintered and he kept it until 2019 and then sold it to another classic car dealer in Sarasota who in turn sold it to a Canadian collector who kept it until 2021 when he then sold it to one more classic car dealer in Montreal. I then brought this well traveled little TC back to South Carolina. It drives out perfect, no noise from the transmission or the synchros, no smoke on start up or for a British car, almost zero oil leaks ! I know, it they're not leaking they must be out of oil !!! I did a compression test on it using an older rubber tipped compression tester which is not as accurate as one where you actually screw it into the cylinders, but still shows excellent compression and well within the ranges posted in the T Series Handbook by New England MG T Series Club, which I belonged to before with car # 7636 and now with car # 6515. Thanks to the club was able to find out that this TC was first registered back in 1981 and kept active until the 90's as well as above noted history. I know someone is going to ask about the pictures where it shows chrome nerf bars front and rear. Those were on it when I got it last year and I took off as did not care for the looks of them. I also put in a new leather seat kit sourced from the UK and one of the recommended vendors for correct TC seat kits. So the pictures with the nerf bars do show some hints of the old seat which after 30 plus years needed upgrading in my opinion. So interior shots shown are of the correct interior. I also removed the wind wings but they will go with the car to a new owner. Spring steel wound around the metal brake lines to dampen vibration and protect from abrasion like in pic 122. Nearly all of the metal brake lines (front and rear) should have the wound armor. Also missing several pieces of armor used in different places for the wiring bundles. Some would call it flexible metal conduit. For instance where the wires go into the fender support bracket (leading to headlights) should be armor pics 139, 138. As I have mentioned I had another TC that I completely restored up to new wood and sheet metal on the body over a 20 year period from 1982 to 2002. I then got back into Austin Healey's and still have one. I decided to get another TC last year and tried to find the best one I could find and believe I did with this black with red beauty. I couldn't afford that approach back in 1982 but now\ncould. The paint and chrome on this TC are gorgeous along with great mechanics and only thing I thought I could improve on was the interior and various bits. Interior is from PJM in UK, considered one of the premier suppliers for T series MG's. Personal reasons I encountered since buying it very simple, my 74 year old knees needing knee replacements no longer allow me to get in and out like I could when I was in my early 40's to late 50's. Guess no surprise there but I really didn't think it would be an issue as able to get in and out of the Healey. But it is and as evidenced by the few miles I have driven it, not something easy to overcome. So I reluctantly decided to sell it. Think BAT is the best venue to reach those who appreciate having a piece of automotive history with the TC still credited with starting the sports car craze in the US back in the late 40's and 50's.
