It has a 2.8V6 Twin Turbo with 70,2xx miles, and has a 5 speed dogleg manual transmission. It is in excellent running condition. Engine is strong and turbos are working the way it should be. Previous owners took really good care and maintained it very well. I bought it in November last year here on BaT. Please see previous BaT listing for additional info.\r\n\r\nHere are some of the high lights of this Maserati:\r\nLike-new convertible top,\r\nCoil-over suspension F and R,\r\n4 good tires,\r\nPerformance mufflers w/o cat (great sound),\r\nEverything works including lights, wipers, gauges, power windows, door, mirrors, and seats etc.\r\nRadio and speakers are disconnected but wirings remained in the car for easy hookup.\r\n\r\nA/C is not blowing cold air (the control panel, fan, and heater are working). I took it to a A/C mechanic and he said it needs to convert to R134A first before he can test the system. Cost about $350. He said the good news is the compressor is working and there are freon in the system. I\u2019ll leave it to the new owner to decide since some might not need A/C on a vintage convertible.\r\n\r\nThings I have done:\r\nChanged transmission and differential fluid with Redline oil,\r\nResurfaced brake rotors and brake fluid flushed (pads have about 60%)\r\nReinforced seat/floor mountings,\r\nComplete new carpet installed,\r\nRust repaired near rear lights and trunk lid,\r\nAvery Dennison Gloss Rock Grey wrap,\r\nReconditioned wheels and interior.\r\n\r\nIt comes with:\r\nShop manuals,\r\nPrevious service records,\r\nExtra set of factory wheels\r\n\r\nBased on previous service/parts records,\r\nTiming belt was replaced in 2019,\r\nClutch was replaced at around 55k miles.\r\n\r\nThe timing belt on this Maserati is quite easy to change. But this example leaves me with so many questions. Based on the photos, the wrap looks to be well done, but why? If the only rust was the rear tail lights, wouldn't staying with the original color paint been so much easier? And then when the wrap was done, why were certain panels (the door jams, the hood and sections of the engine bay) left undone? The interior looks well done, but these models were known for their leather...using vinyl seems like cutting a corner that many Maserati enthusiasts will feel cheapens the car. The same with leaving the radio speakers out and AC not working (only $350 to fix it). The PO took really good care of the engine. Lots of work done in 2019 including timing belt, tuneup, spark plugs, wires, and many more. He even cleaned out the fuel tank and serviced the fuel system. This special grey color is quite \u2018hip\u2019 in the recent years. Many new BMW, Audi, and Porsche use this same grey color. With the black trim (de-chromed), I think this adds some \u2018modern\u2019 elements to this classic Maserati. \r\n\r\nThis is a 33 year old car and it was someone\u2019s daily driver in the 90s. It is not perfect but it\u2019s in very good condition. One attribute about these cars was the interior and leather quality. The leather was far more durable than my Ferrari and much softer. This car, having been redone in vinyl was a waste. The doors should have been redone correctly also in the proper alcantara inserts. Finally, a good paint job as opposed to a wrap would have made this a winner. Yes, these see little value in today's market, but that mainly because the available examples are dogs. The late model biturbo variants are fast and fun and easy to maintain.
