I once removed the rocker sheet metal to assess rust on that beam on a similar Alfa and found quite a bit. With significant rust, especially internal to the beam, the whole beam would have to be replaced. When the barrier behind the front wheels rusts out, water gets into that void and can rust away the \"A\" pillars. Photos #s 100, 103 show that barrier. Based on photos #s 105, 108, and 109, I doubt that either chassis rocker beam could be saved. In both cases you have spend at least 20-30k$ to get a fairly nice car because the job is not so different from the technical side (besides bodywork). To get the car into top conditions, you might have to spend 40k$ or even more. So if this car is mechancially/technically complete, the difference might not be that big. If you are capable to do most of the bodywork by yourself and if you love to do that job, it's maybe not that worse. If you do it under economic premisses (e.g. bodywork done by externals) you might look for a better restoration base.
